Whitchurch, Samuel 1658 *

In the name of God Amen the Seaventh Day of September in the yeare of T Lord God 1658 I Samuell Whitchurch the elder of Welsh Mill in the parish of Froome Sellwood in the Countie of Somersett Mercer Doe here make and ordaine my Last Will and Testament in manner and forme followinge Vis: Imprimis I give and bequeath my Soule into the hands of God Almighty my everlastinge father and Creator not doubtinge but by his tender mercy and goodness to have a Joyfull resurreccon at my Last day and through the merrite of my blessed Saviour Jesus Christ to be Received into his heavenly and everlasting kingdome there to blesse and praise his blessed name with his —– to his eternall glory and my everlastinge Comfort ever and for ever more Item I bequeath my body to be buryed and layde as neere my wife as with Conveniency may be in our parish Church of Froome and for defraying of all the Chardge thereof I do give and allowe the some of Tenne pounds Item I give towards the repacons? of our pish Church in Froome Tenne Shillings to be paid to the Church wardens then beinge three monthes after my Decease Item I give to the Almeshouse people of Froome Six pense a peece to be given to them at my funerall Item I give Tenne Shillinges to be bestowed in bread to such good people as my Sonne Leonard and my overseers shall thinke fitt at my funerall to bestowe it on Item I give unto my Sonne William Whitchurch Twelve pence to be paid by my Executor in one yeare after my Decease Item I give unto my Sonne Anthony Whitchurch Twelve pense to be paid within one yeare after my Decease Item I give unto my Sonne Edward Whitchurch Twelve pense to be paid by my Executor within one yeare after my Decease Item I give unto my Sonne Samuell Whitchurch Twelve pense to be paid within one yeare after my Decease Item I give unto my Sonne James Whitchurch Twelve pense to be paid within one yeare after my Decease Item I give unto my Sonne Joseph Whitchurch Twelve pense to be paid within one yeare after my Decease Item I give and bequeath to my Sonne Anthony Whitchurch my grownd in Feltham Marsh which nowe Richard Hipstons doth rent of mee wth said ground hee is to enter unto the next three months thereafter my decease and my Executor to have the Rent of the said grounds the said three months then my Sonne Anthony to have the Lease thereof Item I give and bequeath to my Sonne Edward Whitchurch my ground called Chilmeade and my Deede of two Acres of Land therein that I bought of Mrs Champneys and hee to enter to the same three monthes thereafter my decease And my Executor to have and receive the rent thereof till the said three monthes be expired and then my Sonne Edward to have the Lease and the Deede thereof Item I give and bequeath unto my Sonne Samuell Whitchurch my house that Anthony Fricker doth rent of mee situate in Cheepestreete with the Stable and barkside? thereunto belonginge and two Acres of arrable land in the Northfield of Froome thereunto belonginge Also I give unto the said Samuell all that my tenemt. in the East Woodlande which William Billstone Doth now rent of mee with all the Appurtennnses thereunto belonginge And he is to enter at three monthes after decease And my Executor to have and receive the rent thereof untill the said three monthes be expired And then my said Sonne Samuell to have the said Leases thereof. Item my will and desire is that Samuell Whitchurch* and Edward Whitchurch my grandchildren and Sonnes of my Sonne Leonard shall enjoye Welsh mill duringe theire lives immediately after theire fathers decease. Item I give and bequeath unto Walter Marchant my grandchilde the some of tenne pounds to be paid by my Executor six monthes after hee shall accomplish the age of Fower and Twenty yeares Item I give and bequeath unto Joane Marchant Mary and Jane Marchant my grandchildren to each of them Tenne poundes to be paid by my Executor And within three monthes after my Decease to pay Interest therefore and the sayd moneys not to be paid unto them but by the Consent of my overseers for their best advantage Provided alwaies that whereas I stand bound with Richard Marchant late deceased in the some of 40. for the payment 20. to the pish. of Froome wth in case the Some of the 20. shall not be paid by the said Richard Marchants Children then this my gifts to be voyd to the Ballens of 20. Item all the rest of my goods I give unto my Sonne Leonard Whitchurch whom I make my sole executor And doe appoint my Sonnes William and Samuell Whitchurch to be the overseers of this my Last Will and Testament In wittness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and Seale the Day and yeare before written. 111. This will was Proved att London before the Judges for probate of wills and grantings Administrations lawfully authorized The seaven and twentieth Day of November In the yeare of our Lord God accordinge to the Computation of the Church of England one thousand six hundred Fifty and eight By the oath of Leonard Whitchurch the Sonne and Sole Executor of the deceased To whome Administration of all the goods and Chattles of the said deceased was Comitted hee beinge first Sworne by Comissiontrulye to Administer the same.
