In the Name of God Amen I Jonathan Whitchurch Junr of Froome Zellwood in the County of Somerset Merchant being of Sound Memory but weak in Body do hereby make and declare my last Will and Testament to be as follows Imprimis my Will is that in case my Wife is not with Child of Child or Children or if my said Wife is with Child or Children and such Child or Children does not live until he she or they shall attain the age of one year and my said Wife shall renounce her Interest in and Right to my Effects by reason of a Settlement which I made to her in her favour before our Intermarriage I give Devise and bequeath to her my said Wife the Summe of Fifteen hundred pounds of lawfull Money of Great Britain the same being the Fortune I had with her and also I likewise give her my said Wife all my Household Goods together with her personalia such as her Watch Rings Jewells wearing apparel and all other things she uses or wears Item my Will is that in case my said Wife be now with Child or shall be with Child before my Death with Child or Children I give Devise and bequeath to such Child or Children one Thousand pounds equally to be divided between them but if but one such Child then the said one Thousand pounds solely to such Child provided they he or she shall live to be one year old Item I give to my Father Mr. Jonathan Whitchurch my Mother Mrs Elizabeth Whitchurch my Father in Law Mr Samll Mortimer Mr James Pitman Junr his Sister Mrs Warren my Brother in Law Edward Holiday my Sister Mary Holliay Mrs Sarah Laurie Philip Brown Son of Mr William Brown and Mr William Hendy Twenty pounds a peice of like lawfull Money of Great Britain. Item I give to my Brother and Sister Hollidays three Children Five pounds a peice. Item I give to the poor Five pounds to be distributed to them at the Discretion of my Father Item I give to my Sister Elizabeth and her Heirs for ever all the Estate that I have any Title to or Interest in that was formerly my Grandfather Eggerton’s Item all the Rest and Residue of my Real and personal Estate I give Devise and bequeath to my said Sister Elizabeth Whitchurch her Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns for ever And I also appoint and constitute her my said Sister Elizabeth Whitchurch Sole Executrix of this my said Will In Testimony whereof I have hereunto sett my Hand and Seal and Declared the same to be my last Will and Testament the third day of February in the year of our Lord one Thousand Seven hundred and twenty three (Jona: Whitchurch Junr) Signed Sealed and Declared by the Testator Jonathan Whitchurch Junr to be his last Will and Testament in our presence and we also subscribed our Names at the same time in his presence as Witnesses the word Estate being first interlined between the twenty fourth and twenty fifth Lines of the said Will and after the rasure in the Sixth Line between the words renounce and her_Rich.
