Whitchurch, Leonard 1736

In the name of God Amen I Leonard Whitchurch of the City of Bristol Soapboyler being in perfect health and of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding thanks be to God for the same but knowing the certainty of death and the uncertainty of the time thereof do make and ordaine this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say First I recommend my soul into the hands of God Almighty who gave it hoping through the alone merritts of my Blessed Saviour Jesus Christ to receive pardon and remission for all my sins and as for such worldly estate as it hath or shall please God to bless me with at the time of my decease I dispose thereof as followeth Item All my Estate both real and personal whatsoever that I shall be possessed of or in any wise intitled unto at the time of my decease I give devise and bequeath the same unto my Loving Brother James Whitchurch Mariner To hold the same and every part thereof unto my said Brother James and his assignes as his and their own proper Estate and Estates Goods and Chattles and to his and their own use and uses for and during all the Estate Terme and Interest which I shall have therein then to come and unexpired But my Will is that in case my Brother James Whitchurch shall happen to dye in my Lifetime then I give Devise and bequeath all my said Estate both real and personal whatsoever unto my Loving Brother Joseph Whitchurch To hold to him and his assignes during all the Estate Terms and Interest which I shall then have therein or thereto And I nominate and appoint my said Brother James Whitchurch Sole Executor of this my will if he shall be living at the time of my death but if he shall happen to dye in my life time then I order make and appoint my said Brother Joseph Sole Executor of this my Last will and I revoke and make void all former and other wills by me at any time heretofore made and I do publish and declare this to be my Last Will and Testament contained in this one sheet of paper In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seale the Ninth day of November in the eighth year of the Reigne of our Sovereigne Lord George the Second by the Grace of God of Great Brittaine France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith and so forth and in the Year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred thirty four.
