In the name of God Amen, I James Whitchurch of the Parish of St. Nicholas in the City of Bristol Merchant do make this my last will and Testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me at any time made,
Imprimis – I recommend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God, who gave it and my Body to be desently interred according to the discretion of my Executrix heareafter named.
Item – As to the worldy Goods it has pleased Almighty God to bless me with, my will is, that my just debts and Funeral expences be first payd.
Item – The residue of all my Estate whether Real, or Personal mones and debts due to me, all my Goods within door, and without my wearing apparel, plate, and everything else belonging to me at my decease, I give and bequeath to my dearly beloved wife Ann Whitchurch for her natural life, and after her decease, to my Sons James Joseph and Samuel or the Survivor or Survivors of them or any other children I may have by my present wife at my decease to be equally divided between them share and share alike and this I do, not through any want of natural love and affection to my dearly beloved Daughter Mary Eames, but in consideration of her being entitled to a larger and more ampel share of my Estate in the Jointure which I settled upon her mother
Item – I constitute and appoint my dearly beloved wife Ann Whitchurch whole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament.
